GIS Based Land Use/Land Management Planning Services
Using the variety of GIS data sources that are available, SGS can assist in land use and land management plans. An example would be using GIS data including rare plant and animal species GIS data, high quality habitat GIS data, open space as identified via aerial photography, land ownership as identified via parcel GIS data, wetlands GIS data, and many other GIS datasets to assist in developing targeted conservation management plans for private landowners or county and municipal governments experiencing high development rates. Another example would be using GPS to map the exact boundaries of agricultural fields on farmland thus allowing the landowner to identify the exact amount of acreage in production for a given crop type, etc.
